ADG worked in association with a local architecture firm to design a joint training center for Bay County Gulf Coast Community College. The center consists of 50,400 SF in a single story building and functions as a community college with academic training for police, fire protection, corrections, and emergency management on an daily basis, and as an EOC facility during activation. It includes 9 classrooms with a 36 seat capacity each, 20 stations for the 911/Dispatch, 41 seats for the Incident Command Center area and a large classroom with a 57 seat capacity. The Incident Command Center has ten large screen displays capable of monitoring all types of emergency situations and broadcast alerts. It doubles as a computer lab when not activated. The opportunity to provide public safety educational courses in a first responder facility is advantageous for all entities, providing programmatic, real-time, and realistic situations that become learning experiences.
