ADG was selected to design a “prototype” three-bay Fire Station that will replace several obsolete existing stations. The first station completed, Casselberry Fire Station No. 21 is fully operational. This facility is intended to be replicated in a various parts of the community.
The station houses a crew of ten with three, double deep apparatus bays. ADG therefore designed the “prototype” with an architectural character that will blend equally well in a commercial or residential setting. Additionally, the “prototype” is designed to be easily expanded for larger crews and more apparatus. Also included is a Watch Office, Crew Quarters, Day Room, Bunker Gear Storage, Decontamination, Kitchen and Phyiscal Agility.
Designed with 100% backup electrical and mechanical provisions and hurricane impact glazing systems, this facility is outfitted with the necessary infrastructure to weather, withstand and operate before, during and after any man-made or natural disaster occurrence, thus ensuring that the critical services provided by the Department are not disrupted. ADG provided programming, site planning, architectural design, and construction administration services.
