Linn County Sheriff Complex and Jail Architects Design Group

Linn County Sheriff Complex and Jail

The Linn County Board of County Commissioners initially selected Architects Design Group to complete a space needs assessment and site feasibility study for a new sheriff’s complex, which contained facilities for the sheriff’s administrative offices, the courts, and jail facilities.

After completing these two phases, the county selected a site just outside Albany. Architects Design Group was subsequently hired to provide complete master planning and architectural design services for the sheriff’s administration complex and jail. ADG teamed with a local architect to complete the project.

The new complex’s design included the sheriff’s office and administrative office areas, judicial courtrooms for arraignments, controlled and separated circulation, and a new jail, which houses approximately 140 inmates. The inmate population is a mix of both genders with all security levels ranging from trustee to maximum security. The complex design included the phased development of buildings to allow for controlled growth and scheduled funding as facilities came online.
