Clermont, FL (October 2016) — In order to provide the Clermont Police Department with the much needed room to improve services and safety, and provide room for the increase in staff, ADG initially developed a spatial needs assessment, master plan, and site analysis for the addition / renovation of the existing police headquarters property. In that study, strategic planning for an addition to the facility which included a new secure sally port, expanded temporary holding area, specialized property and evidence storage areas, and technologically advanced records retention was completed. Owing to numerous issues that included parking, cost to renovate existing building, and community concerns the addition / renovation was determined to be unfeasible.
The building is a two-story structure that includes an evidence processing lab, evidence bulk storage, a training classroom, temporary holding cells area, and a sally port, in addition to the regular administration areas needed in a facility of this nature. The total square footage of the building is 30,611 SF. The building has been designed to satisfy the current and future needs of the Clermont Police Department to the year 2030.
