Law Enforcement Facilities Architects Design Group

Law Enforcement Facilities

ADG has had the opportunity to be involved in the programming, master planning, and design of police facilities throughout the United States. This extensive experience has provided our firm with an insight into those issues which are very specific to this facility type. Through this experience, our team has as gained a strong understanding of the law enforcement industry. ADG’s firm president, Ian Reeves, AIA, served on the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) committee for updating the police facility design guidelines and standards, which was published in October of 2019. As such, we understand the unique requirements of law enforcement facilities, and how they should be designed in order to provide maximum efficiency and functionality.

We have found that law enforcement is constantly evolving to meet the needs of today’s environment. There are many areas of the police facility that should be given special design consideration. That said, the crucial components that are to be considered in the planning and design of police facilities are grounded in the commitment to protect those specialized areas that present the highest risk and liability to the department. Our team understands the requirements of police facilities, the components necessary to ensure safe and efficient daily operations, and how to incorporate these components into each project we embark upon.
