ADG recently completed multiple architectural design style options for the Orange County Fire Department’s new prototype design for three stations. The new prototype fire stations will be located on sites throughout the county. The interior adjacencies and layout can be transferred to all three stations; however, the exterior is adapted to fit into the context of each site.
Fire Station No. 32: The 1.95-acre site with vacant unimproved land is bordered by a major right of way to the south (with single-family residential homes across the street), vacant undeveloped land to the east and west, and an unmanned cable TV facility to the north. For this location, the prototype station has the option to use the more commercial architectural style while still using the same floorplan.
Fire Station No. 6: The 2.54-acre site of land is currently vacant with few mature trees along the northern property line. The site is bordered by single-family residential homes to the north, multi-family residential to the east, and vacant commercial land to the south. The architectural design style responded to the residential neighborhood located adjacent to the station.
Fire Station No. 87: The 1.3-acre site is comprised with major road frontage on three sides. The north side of the site is contiguous to an existing public school. The design style has a commercial feel to respond to the specific surroundings of the site.
Fire Station Nos. 44, 68, 69, and 80: The county recently revised our contract to include 4 new stations using the prototype design.
