Architects Design Group (ADG) was chosen to design a new 18,000-SF state-of-the-art training facility. The new center will accommodate updated requirements of law enforcement training, improving accuracy, and better preparing police officers in the field. The facility will include a 50-yard, 10-lane gun range, training classroom, support rooms, offices, secure entry vestibule, specialized weapons cleaning stations, ammunitions storage, bike storage, temporary K-9 kennels, and a new vehicle maintenance garage. It is designed to withstand Category 5 hurricane winds of up to 175 mph, 3-second wind gust with redundancy of power, HVAC, data/voice, water, and sanitation.
The new indoor range, with a secured perimeter, will serve 200 sworn officers, who responded to 73,000 calls for service. With this facility, ADG is committed to assisting the Plantation Police Department in its mission to improve the quality of life for residents through a partnership with the community that promotes safe, secure streets, and neighborhoods.
