Tampa Public Works and Fleet Maintenance Facility Architects Design Group

Tampa Public Works and Fleet Maintenance Facility

Architects Design Group was selected to provide space needs, master planning, interior design, and architectural services for the city’s public works complex, located on 11 acres of land. The project consolidated public works activities from several satellite locations including administration, maintenance, operations, and warehouse / storage.

After quantifying the programmatic spatial needs of the facility, ADG conducted a series of planning charrettes with the facility users and prepared a careful site analysis. Zones of activity were created based on the potential impact within the ecology and broader land use context. The complex included parking for 150 employees and storage for over 200 vehicles and maintenance equipment; maintenance materials storage areas are interspersed within “ecological zones” of the site.

Upon completion, Architects Design Group was recognized by the Tampa Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) as “Architect of the Year.” Additionally, the Florida Chapter of the APWA selected ADG as the “2003 Architect of the Year” for the successful design of this facility.
