Union County EOC and 911 Center

Architects Design Group, in association with a local architecture firm ADW Architects (ADW), assisted Union County, NC with the design of their 23,658-SF Emergency Services Center. The overall scope included a spatial needs assessment, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, permitting, and construction oversight.

 

The new facility includes the Fire Marshall’s Office, Emergency Management Administration, Emergency Operations Center, Support Areas, Emergency 911 Communications, and Facilities Services. The site design included a logistics warehouse for the Fire Marshall and emergency management storage, secured staff parking, public parking, and media parking.

 

The critical areas for this facility include an EOC / 911, lobby, break out rooms, kitchen, equipment spaces, secured entrances and parking, and central energy plant. The facility contains a total of 24 dispatch consoles, with two additional supervisor chairs. During activation, the dedicated EOC can accommodate over 100 participants, with 64 seated stations.
